Technology specifically addresses many limitations of conventional biologicals, particularly stability and shelf-life uses activators that “switch on” the activity of a biological product only when certain conditions are met. These activators are carefully designed enzymes complexes which respond to specific signals in the environment – either abiotic (e.g. moisture, temperature, pH) or biotic (e.g. insects, nematodes, bacterial or fungal pathogens). When conditions match that of a farm setting in which such signals are present, the enzyme complex is triggered. In turn, this active enzyme complex switches on the biological product, giving crops access to its benefits.
This technology makes the biological product highly-stable and extends its shelf-life considerably. It also ensures that natural cycles and biological processes in the soil are maintained, which are key considerations in the practice of regenerative agriculture.
